This is not planned, but it turns out to be a full-on moisturizer empty reviews. You see, I travel quite a bit and go to gym pretty often, in both occasions, I like to carry a sample size of moisturizer with me, which usually last at least 2 weeks with everyday use. A pretty good amount for product testing. And thanks to my unwavering commitment to the skincare industry, I have a lot of mini moisturizers in my arsenal.
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream
Ah, the brand that makes all skincare addicts excited, and for a good reason I may say so. The name is spot on, it has a whipped texture that’s thicker than your normal moisturizer, but goes on really light on the skin. I have used this as both day cream and night cream, and it worked really well – I don’t find it too heavy for the day, and moisturizing enough for the night. I will whip this one out when my skin is on the drier side, i.e. traveling, or taking long haul flight, and it has served me well.
Will I purchase in full size? Yes, especially when I know the full size even has a more hygienic delivery system, but I do want to try out the Protini Polypeptide Cream first.
Tatcha The Water Cream
There was once a phase that wherever I go, I see this moisturizer pops up. OK, probably not “wherever”, but you know what I mean. The name of the product is definitely intriguing, and is an accurate one. The texture of the moisturizer is ultra lightweight, water consistency, blends in and sinks in to the skin instantly. It certainly is luxurious, as all Tatcha products are, but I don’t see anything miraculous about it. It’s a nice moisturizer, but not the best one I have tried, and doesn’t do anything more for my skin than moisturizing. So for me, I cannot justify the high price.
Will I purchase in full size? No.
Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream
It’s a no fuzz, simple, basic moisturizer that comes in handy package and reasonable price. No fancy promise, just does one thing really well, which is moisturizing your skin without being heavy or sticky. I’m in general a fan of Dr. Jart+ ceramidin line, their ceramidin liquid is a hydrating serum that I enjoyed a lot. On a side note, this line seems to be packaged, and I got to say, I love the new look – sleek, chic and shiny bright yellow.
Will I purchase in full size? Maybe, as much as I like a basic moisturizer, I’m more drawn towards moisturizers with anti-aging ingredients now.
Sunday Riley C.E.O. C + E Protect + Repair Moisturizer
I have a few of these laying around, because every time I see them in Sephora 100 points perks, I grab one. So in this sense, you can say I quite enjoy this moisturizer. It’s moisturizing, contains some of my favorite ingredients (Vitamin C and Vitamin E), and smells rather nice with a refreshing citrus scent. However, I feel it can be slightly sticky on me, which is OK for a night cream, but for day cream? It’s sort of a deal breaker for me.
Will I purchase in full size? No, but I don’t dislike this moisturizer, and will continue scoping the travel size ones when I see them in Sephora, I just don’t feel like paying for the full size.
Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer
This is my 3rd little tube of this moisturizer in travel size, and I absolutely love it. It’s lightweight, provides long lasting hydration and nourishes, always make my skin feel more supple afterwards.
Will I purchase in full size? Yes.
Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior 2-in-1 Plumping Moisturizer + Serum
I haven’t heard anything about this moisturizer before, and had literally zero expectation, but I was pleasantly surprised. It truly is a 2-in-1 product that’s packed with some great ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid and amino acid. I feel a slight tingling sensation when applied to the face, but it goes away quickly, and leaves my skin feeling more plumped the next day. I have tried this together with several other serums, and they all seem to work well together.
