Three Things That Have Saved My Skin Lately

I’ve been very focusing on skincare lately, mainly because with frequent travels, my skin has taken a toll – small red bumps coming out of nowhere overnight, getting much drier than usual, a bit of texture around the mouth and the dull complexion… you get it, it’s not a pretty picture. My usual skincare routine doesn’t seem to do the tricks as they normally do, so I’ve been experimenting more and added three items into my daily routine: the ever famous SK-II facial treatment essence, the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel and Bioderma Hydrabio Perfecteur SPF 30++++.

SK-II facial treatment Essence : I have used up a whole bottle (230ml) of this about a year ago, and remember seeing some pretty magical results in a few weeks – as a matter of fact, the transformation only happened at the beginning for me, and it moved into a maintaining state afterwards. So when I was struggling with the texture issue earlier last month, I decided to pick up this again. And it has not disappointed me! I started seeing improvements after using it for about 2 weeks: my skin looks and feels much smoother and clearer, which is exactly what I experienced last time. Just good skin in a bottle! FYI, I haven’t been following the suggested way of using it, which is soaking up a cotton pad and apply it to the face, I usually apply directly with my palm and pad it into the skin gently, mainly because I feel it’s too expensive to let cotton pad soak up the product.

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel: oh boy, I don’t even know how to express my love for this baby. I used up a whole bottle a few months ago, and have been itching to get a new one ever since. I mean, this is just THE BEST cleanser I have ever used in my life (Yes, I even love it more than Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm)! Every time when I massage this to my face, it feels like I’m giving myself a spa experience, a pampering session. Everything from the scent of the cleanser, to the color, and to the effect, perfection! Unlike any other cleanser in the market, not only does it clean the face, it moisturizes and softens the face, also adds radiance to the complexion. So glad to have it back to my top shelf, I have made a mental note to myself that I should never ever running out of this and have no back up again.

Bioderma Hydrabio Perfecteur SPF 30++++ is a very recent discovery and a non-planned purchase, but has quickly become my favorite day time moisturizer for the hot, humid weather. It is featured in my recent May beauty favorite, because I literally have been using it every single day since getting it. It’s a great summer day time moisturizer, comes with good sun protection without leaving the sticky feeling. It provides enough hydration to keep my skin properly moisturized for the whole day, but what’s so unique about this product is that it has a velvety texture, easy to spread out and blend the product. It smoothens the skin, calms down redness, which makes it a perfect moisturiser underneath makeup. My skin has neutralized after a week of usage, less angry, more behaved. And because it’s Bioderma, the ingredient list is clean, the scent is very subtle and comforting. I’ve already used almost half of the tube, need to pick up a new one soon!
