I love nude lips, they are low maintenance, they go with everything, and they are appropriate in all occasions – office, night out, friends gathering, date night… the list goes on and on. But a good nude that perfectly suits my skin tone and goes with my preference is so hard to find! Case in point, the cult favorite Kat Von D liquid lipstick Lolita doesn’t look on me 🙁 I just cannot pull off any shades that lean towards brown.
Lately, as I go through the process of reorganizing my makeup stash and basically covering my entire arms with all sorts of swatches, I believe I have found my ultimate nude combo: Charlotte Tilbury lip cheat in pillow talk, Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in bitch perfect and top it up with Chantecaille Brilliant Lip gloss in Lucky.
Charlotte Tilbury lip cheat in pillow talk: a stunning pinky nude shade, pretty much everyone knows about it and love it. I’m not a lip liner person in general, but I’m totally obsessed with this: it goes on so creamy and smooth, highly pigmented and the color is universally flattering. It’s gorgeous on its own, and adds longevity to any lipsticks you wear on top of it.
Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Bitch Perfect: Besides the fact that it has the most badass name in the world, it’s also a great everyday nude lipstick – not too peachy, not too pink, and not too nude, just the right balance and perfect combination. It has a satin, luminous finish, goes on smoothly (not as creamy and smooth as the lip cheat liner, but it doesn’t feel like tugging or dragging whatsoever either). The color off is quite fantastic, one swipe can give even coverage and deposit the right amount of pigmentation. When pairing pillow talk together with this lipstick, the color lasts well over 4 hours on my lips even with drinking water constantly.
Chantecaille Brilliant Lip gloss in Lucky: Picked this one up after seeing Amelia Liana talks on and on about it. It’s the most unique lip gloss I own, both from color and formulation fronts. It’s a pinky champagne-ish lip gloss with tiny golden flakes running through it, feels slightly sticky on me, but I can pass that because it’s out of the world stunning. I have been wearing it a ton in the past on its own, which makes your lips look fuller, plumper and oh so juicy, not like any other lip glosses I have seen. It’s also a great layering lip gloss, when you feel your lipstick color is too pale, too pink, too red, too dark, (too anything!), add this lip gloss and it will transfer the look instantly, it’s like a lip perfector really! Combining this with the Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk and Bitch perfect, you get the best glossy pinky nude look you can think of.
Have you tried any of them?
