The Face of January (aka. January Makeup Favs)

The first month of 2016 has just flew by, I feel like I just got back from the holidays, and now Chinese New Year is approaching! The combination of holidays and purely me being lazy result in I’m not wearing as much makeup most of the times, a bit of base, a touch of blush and a wash of color on the eye is all I did 95% of the times, see, I don’t even have winged liner going on!

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick: this is the only base product I’ve been using non-stop this month, cannot be happier that I decided to dig it out after ignoring it for so long. It gives me the most natural and undetectable finish, evens out the complexion and minimize the look of pores (they are still there, otherwise, it will be too perfect, and I don’t go after flawless face most of the times). More importantly, my skin is breathable and feels fresh.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat: I love every single Hourglass ambient lighting blush I own, but have been using this particular shade the most of this month – it’s a vibrant coral red/poppy color that instantly brightens up my face and gives me life even when I’m totally lack of energy/sleep due to the long hours of watching Netflix.

Becca Champagne Pop: This highlighter travelled half of the world to get in my hand – long story, but in short, it was not easy to get a hold of this without physically being in the U.S. – and I’m so over the top that it lives up the the hype. It truly is a universally flattering highlighter shade. Every day, when I use the Wayne Goss brush No. 15 to lightly dust it over the top of my cheekbones, I think I hear angels singing in the air. So as everyone owns would have told you: get it while you still can!

Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow Caroube (147) and Burberry wet & dry eyeshadow in Pale Barley: both are perfect one swipe of color all over the lid – to me, they are both in the taupe family that goes with every look and perfect for everyday look – but having them together, I found it to be exceptionally stunning (and still being effortless). I would draw the Chanel eyeshadow stick all over the lid as a base, even it out with my ring finger and apply Pale Barley on top of it to add an extra layer of dimension and shine – these Burberry single eyeshadows are truly aaaaaamazing! I think I need pick up a few more colors next time I’m near the counter…
