Sachajuan Ocean Mist Review

sachajuan ocean mist review

I’m under the impression that the Sachajuan Ocean Mist has been around and been raved by beauty bloggers for years now, but I have only picked one up towards end of last year while looking to add some volume and natural beachy wave to my hairs. It doesn’t add any extra volume to my hair, but does give probably the most natural and dreamy waves.

I have always been skeptical about hair mist type of products, most of them irritate my scalp, building up unwanted residue, weighing down my hairs or leaving them feeling scrunchy, which I personally really don’t like. If you have similar concerns like me, rest and assured, the Sachajuan Ocean Mist doesn’t do any of the above. According to the product description, “It uses natural oils and minerals to give hair a wavy look…” which explains why it feels weightless upon application and doesn’t leave any residue that may cause itchy scalp, you kind don’t feel it’s there but it does all the tricks.

Sachajuan Ocean Mist Review

I find it difficult to overdo, which is a big plus. I can be very generous when spraying this all over my hair – I would go as far as 20 sprays in one go, practically drenched my hair with this stuff, and it would still turn out to be good: nice beachy wave, no weigh down, no irritated scalp, perhaps a bit too much beachy texture for my liking, but that’s about it.

I would spray this right after brushing out the wet hair, and just before blow drying, focus on the mid length and the end, crimp the hairs several times to ensure the product is absorbed while blow drying. On me, the effect usually lasts 2-3 days.

The scent of this spray though, I can see it’s a big hit or miss depends on the your preference. Personally, I find the scent too strong and a bit overpowering, though it doesn’t seem to linger too long on my hair. But I have also heard others love this particular scent and cannot get enough of it. By the way, it’s the same scent as the Ocean Mist Volume Shampoo and Conditioner.

Last, let’s all take a moment to appreciate the package! It’s the simplest and most classic design in my mind, minimalist to the maximum. Also, take a look at the product, it’s blue! The refreshing, relaxing and reviving ocean blue (the name says it all…), it reminds me of a beach holiday every time I use it.

So the bottom line is that this is a major love for me. I’m now interested to try other Sachajuan haircare lines, any recommendations?
