Review: Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum

vintner's daughter active serum review

Skip my usually long intro, let’s go straight to the point: I love facial oils, but this one, this one, is the cream of the corp. It’s the most potent, most divine, and just the best all-round facial oil I have ever tried. There you have it, my bold statement, and I swear by it.

I learned about this oil at Into the gloss, it has an equally, if not more bold title “the face oil to end all all face oils”. Can you possibly not be intrigued to try it out? Not sure about you, but I couldn’t. I immediately hopped over to the website, read about the product, and added it to my shopping list – I was going to have a business trip to the U.S. the next month, what an impeccable timing!

This facial oil contains 22 natural ingredients, such as grape seed oil, hazelnut oil, lemon peel, rosehip oil, tumeric root oil, rosemary leaf extract and etc. (you can read the full list here). It’s an all natural product that designed to address all problems your skin might have: anti-aging, add radiance, improve skin elasticity… The similar type of claim you will read about practically every other facial products out there in the market.

What really sold me is the fact that the founder April Gargiulo formulated this product when she was pregnant with her first child, struggled to find a good & safe skincare products in the market to address her own skin concerns. Her search led her to the creation of this simple, organic, yet effective facial oil. I appreciate/adore the simplicity of this product, really, nowadays, a lot of skincare products come with too many fancy ingredients and technologies, but too little substance. Also, I love how much thoughts she has given into when designing the dark violet glass, which suppose to “energetically activates our botanical formulas… Miron violet glass works like a natural filter that only lets the sunlight that protects and improves quality in, thus lengthening lifespan and actually increasing potency of our products. This means that our products will not only be optimally preserved but will also be energetically enriched.”

I certainly cannot test if that’s really the case, but hey, if they put that much efforts into a glass, how bad can the actual product be.

It’s the most expensive products I have ever purchased for my face, and I don’t regret even a bit! The oil is very rich, but it’s not heavy at all and soaks into skin quickly. After I follow the instruction and finish message the entire face, my skin has already absorbed the oil and feel instantly relieved. Maybe relief is not the right word for it, but you know the feeling that after a long day of running around, dealing with all kinds of b*ll sh*t, and finally you get back home, laying down on your comfy sofa, turning on “friends” and enjoy the peace? That’s how my skin felt. It has a nice, organic, botanical scent, not even a tiny trace of chemical, it just feels like you are back to natural mother’s embrace.

The next morning when I woke up, my skin felt … satisfied! That’s probably the best word I can think of to describe the effect, it’s plumped, it’s hydrated, it’s radiant, it’s energized, it’s everything you want for your skin. The best part is that when you continue using the product, you continue seeing the improvement. Some products deliver shockingly excellent results right away, but after continue usage, it kind fades away. That’s not the case with this one, I’ve been using it for more than 6 months now, and my skin still enjoys it every time.

Because it’s so potent and kind does everything, it has significantly simplified my nighttime skincare routine. After cleanser, I just put on toner, and then the vintner’s daughter active serum, that’s all, I’m done. I love the 2 steps, 2 product routine.

Usually, I rotate skincare products on bi-weekly basis, but ever since I started using this facial oil, I have been very reluctant to switch over to something else. Literally, I need to force myself to come out of the “comfort zone” to use another product, just so my face can get a bit of refreshment.

Yes, it’s very, super, really expensive! But it seems to last quite long, I have been using 4 drops for my face, 2 drops for my neck for 6 months now, and there is still quite a bit left – cannot tell exactly how much product I still have, because of the design of the glass, but when I’m going to the U.S. next time, I’m going to pick another one for sure. Even though that means, my wallet will cry for a month.
