Products I Have Used Up

It’s again my favorite type of post to write and read about: the empties! I was doing a bit of life declutter a few days ago, which always induces a sense of guilty in the midst of it, but not going to lie, I feel so much more refreshed and relieved afterwards, during the process of it, I realized my empty bin was about to burst with beauty trashes. So here I am, reporting back more empties, so I can throw all the bottles out later and pour a glass of wine to reward myself. Now there are quite a lot of them, so I’m going to try to be breezy and quick.

Benefit Dream Screen Oil-free Sunscreen SPF 45:

I have done a full review of this sunscreen here, my thoughts haven’t changed. It’s a decent sunscreen, but feels greasy on initial application despite being oil-free, and has the tendency to dry out my skin, which I still haven’t figured out why.

Will I repurchase? Nope.

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel, Benefit Dream Screen Sunscreen SPF 45, Clarins Shaping facial lift serum

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel (200ml, jumbo size):

Still one of my favorite cleansers, I always turn to it when my skin feels dry or lackluster, or just needs a bit more pamper. This is the only cleanser I would like to make sure I have at least one bottle at my skincare backup drawer.

Will I repurchase? Absolutely yes.

Clarins Shaping Facial Lift Total V Contouring Serum:

This is the product that even after finishing up the entire bottle, I’m still puzzled that if it has done anything for me. It’s an interesting and enticing product to me, which I have resisted this for year, because to be honest, I don’t really believe a serum can help keep up the shape of your face. Gravity does its work, and it’s just mother nature. But who knows, at a weak moment, I bought it. Texture wise, it’s rather lovely, very thin and skins into the skin almost instantaneously, so adding this additional step to my night time routine was not difficult and I actually really enjoyed it. But does it really work? I don’t know is the real answer. There are days where I feel it has reduced puffiness on my face, but there are also days I feel it did absolutely nothing. Maybe it’s a product you can only tell with long term, continuous use?

Will I repurchase? Maybe, when that weak moment hit me again.

PCA Skin Rejuvenating serum:

I really loved this serum, it’s not as strong as other retinol based serums I have tried in terms of tightening the skin and smooth out fine lines, but it definitely has brightened my complexion and smoothed the skin texture. Also the texture of the serum is just lovely: lightweight, easy to apply, absorbs into the skin instantly, causes zero irritation or discomfort. This is my first product from the PCA skincare range, and got to say, I’m really impressed.

Will I repurchase? Yes, but I would like to try other serums in the PCA skincare line first.

PCA Skin Rejuvenating Serum Review, SkinCeutical C E Ferulic Review, ALPHA-H Vitamin C Review

ALPHA-H Vitamin C Serum:

I got this in the ALPHA-H vitamin profile set when it’s initially launched in cultbeauty. I’ve been religiously incorporating vitamin C into my daily skincare routine, particularly in the morning (safe to say in the last one year or so, I have the  vitamin C + sunscreen combo on my face every single morning). This is a nice lightweight vitamin C serum that sinks into the skin pretty quickly, and doesn’t get overly sticky. But I haven’t noticed any significant improvement, though that being said, my dark spots also didn’t get darker, so it probably has provided good protection.

Will I repurchase? No, not because it’s a bad vitamin C serum, just because I have tried better ones.

SkinCeutical C.E. Ferulic:

Ah probably the most famous vitamin C serum in the market, and the 20% off sales at dermstore pushed me over the edge to finally purchase this one. I have to say, I have no regrets. I use 4-5 drops every morning, patted over my entire face and neck, and followed by moisturizer. It does leave a bit of sticky feeling on the skin, but goes away once I put moisturizer on top. After using this, my skin has gotten smoother and more glowy – there are days I would go without any highlighters (who knows!), also my discoloration has improved. I haven’t noticed any dramatic differences in the fine line reduction department, but I’m pretty happy with the current results already.

Will I repurchase? Yes, I’m already on the second bottle.

OUAI Hair Oil Review

OUAI Hair Oil:

The first hair oil I have completely finished up, and enjoyed every drop of it. It’s a lovely lightweight, nourishing oil that my thick, coarse and chemically treated hairs love. Unlike a lot of other hair oils I have tried, it absorbs almost instantly, without leaving a film, gives hair that glossy and healthy glow. Also, it helps when it smells divine.

Will I repurchase? Yes, and already have the new bottle in hand.
