My new year resolution of “buying less beauty products and using up more from the existing pile” is still going strong, cannot say I’m not proud of myself so far, I thought it’s only appropriate to post another empty, and this is quite a big one (so many that I could barely fit all of them into the photo frame). There are some skincare, some makeup, body care and hair care, having a sense of satisfaction just by writing this…
Finally, I have finished up this giant bottle! I think it lasted me at least a year? I adore Shu Uemura oil cleanser, and have been devoted to it for as long as I can remember. It removes all traces of makeup, including those stubborn super waterproof Japanese mascara, and doesn’t leave my face feeling greasy at all. Still don’t understand why it hasn’t gotten much attention in outside of Asia, because I really think it’s a fab oil cleanser!
A truly gentle and hydrating cleanser, one of my favorites for morning cleansing, as it takes away the dirt on the surface without feeling strippy. The texture of this cleanser is rather interesting, very liquidy and running, which makes it very easy to squeeze out too much product, and explains why I finished up the tube so quickly!
Would I repurchase? Probably not right away, I’m still in the cleansing balm phase, which is also ideal (or arguably even better) for morning cleansing.
Not going to repeat myself here, I’ve mentioned this too many times already, but this is one of my all time favorite sprays. It’s already on my repurchase list, the obsession is very real.
This is my second bottle. It’s the product that I don’t particularly love, but for some reason, I think I would repurchase. The acid is a bit strong for me, every time when I use it, I feel a slight burning sensation on the skin and it typically lasts 2-3mins before going away. It does help clean up the skin and keep acne at bay, but I just wish it’s less harsh.
Probably the night cream I have used the most in 2015, if I’m not using a facial oil, 90% of the time I was using this. It’s also included in my 2015 skincare hero post, as I do really love it. On me personally, it’s a good all-round moisturizer, aka, I’m not sure exactly what it does, but it makes my skin good.
It’s featured in my 2015 skincare hero post, as this has been my favorite cleanser in the year and the obsession is showing no sign of winding down. I was so looking forward to wash my face every day, such a luxury experience with this cleansing balm. It was loved by so many bloggers and YouTubers for a reason.
I liked it a lot, and believe it’s featured in one of my monthly favorite? This is the one that got me hooked on the cleansing balm trend, so even though I prefer the Emma Hardie one more, Elemis one still has a special place in my heart…
This is Clarins’ newly formulated sunblock, and I have to say, I actually prefer the old formula, it was less slippery, and the white cast was less obvious. It’s not a bad sunscreen by any means, I liked it enough to finish the whole bottle, but probably won’t repurchase anytime soon.
My first impression of this cleanser still holds true, still don’t like it. It just doesn’t clean well, I always feel there was a layer of residue left on my face and it certainly doesn’t remove makeup as it’s claimed. It was a relief for me to finish it up. Though when I checked everywhere, it seems to have pretty good reviews, but it just doesn’t work for me.
The only mascara I have used for my bottom lash. So high maintenance right? I know! But every other mascara I have tried have caused flakes around my lower lash line, which I cannot stand. It’s a tiny tiny tube, but lasted surprisingly long for me. Always have a backup in my drawer.
My HG status primer, it has been a lifesaver for my extremely oil eyelid. Most of the days I only wear eyeliner (my trusty liquid eyeliner) to work, and find it even helps with the longevity of liners. Already has a backup ready.
It was raved by so many beauty bloggers and YouTubers, but honestly, I was a bit underwhelmed. Not that it’s not a good body butter, because it is good – it’s creamy but not too sticky (it can be a tad sticky if you are in humid places like Singapore though), keeps skin hydrated for long time and smells lovely – but I expected it to be as good as my all time favorite – Kiehl’s Creme de Corp whipped body butter, which it wasn’t. So in that sense, I was a bit disappointed, though Kiehl’s one is a bit pricer.
I didn’t see much volume when using it, it feels like any regular shampoo on my dense, a bit coarse and thick hairs. So will not repurchase.
Wow, that’s a long list. Cannot wait to clean up the space and free up some room now yay!
